Helicopters are one of the aircraft categories India Private Jets can look into for a trip, alongside the fixed-wing aircraft we arrange to and from India. The types listed here seat 4 to 8 passengers, with published ranges from 324 to 500 nautical miles. Which one suits your trip depends on the passenger count, the baggage, the distance and the airports at both ends.
Typical Aircraft
The helicopter types listed here are Agusta A109, Bell 407, Bell JetRanger, Bell LongRanger, Eurocopter (Airbus Helicopters) and Sikorsky S-76.
When a Helicopter Fits an India Trip
Whether a helicopter suits any part of a trip in India depends on where you can land at each end, the weather and what Indian operators can offer on your date. Helicopters suit short flights only, so your advisor checks with those operators before saying whether one fits your plans.
Cabin size, baggage space and range vary across these 6 types, so send us the details and we will narrow the list down for you.
Vetting Behind Every Trip
Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:
- FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
- Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates.
- Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
- Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.
India-Specific Patterns We Plan Around
Most international private flights arrive at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International or Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International, and flights between two Indian cities are flown by Indian charter operators certified by the DGCA, India’s civil aviation authority. Udaipur and Jodhpur are domestic airports, so international guests clear in at Delhi, Mumbai or Jaipur first. The monsoon season brings heavy rain from June to September, Delhi can see dense fog from mid-December to early February, and cyclones can affect the coasts. Diwali and the winter wedding season book up first, and the routing and any fuel stop on a long trip are confirmed with the operator before you book.
