Piston aircraft are among the aircraft India Private Jets arranges for trips to and from India. The types we arrange seat 3 to 9 passengers, with published ranges from 730 to 1,480 nautical miles. Which one suits your trip depends on the passenger count, the baggage, the distance and the airports at both ends.
Typical Aircraft
The types we arrange in this category are Beech Baron 58, Beechcraft Baron G58, Cessna 340, Cirrus SR22, Piper Aerostar 600, Piper Cherokee Six PA-32, Piper Navajo PA-31 (Cheyenne / Chieftain), Piper PA-23 Aztec and Piper Saratoga PA-32R.
When a Piston Fits an India Trip
Piston aircraft suit short regional flights with one or two passengers and light bags, and in India those flights are flown by Indian charter operators certified by the DGCA. Anything longer or heavier is a job for a turboprop or a jet. Tell us who is flying and what they are bringing, and we will say whether a piston aircraft fits.
Cabin size, baggage space and range vary across these 9 types, so send us the details and we will narrow the list down for you.
The runway a particular aircraft needs is calculated by the operator for that day’s conditions, and your advisor confirms it with the operator before anything is booked.
Vetting Behind Every Trip
Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:
- FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
- Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates.
- Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
- Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.
India-Specific Patterns We Plan Around
Most international private flights arrive at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International or Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International, and flights between two Indian cities are flown by Indian charter operators certified by the DGCA, India’s civil aviation authority. Udaipur and Jodhpur are domestic airports, so international guests clear in at Delhi, Mumbai or Jaipur first. The monsoon season brings heavy rain from June to September, Delhi can see dense fog from mid-December to early February, and cyclones can affect the coasts. Diwali and the winter wedding season book up first, and the routing and any fuel stop on a long trip are confirmed with the operator before you book.
