Private Charter Aircraft for India

The aircraft that suits a trip to, from or within India depends on four things: how far you are going, how many people are traveling, how much baggage is coming, and which airport suits each end of the trip. Two executives flying from Mumbai to Dubai for a day of meetings and a wedding party of forty flying into Delhi from London need very different aircraft, and the difference shows up in the quote.

Below are the categories we work with. When we send options, your advisor will explain why each one fits.

Which category fits your trip

Distance decides a lot. From Delhi, Jaipur is about 125 nautical miles away, Mumbai about 615, Dubai about 1,180 and London about 3,650; from Mumbai, Goa is about 210 and the Maldives about 895. A light jet covers most trips within India and Mumbai to the Gulf, a midsize jet or larger suits the Gulf from Delhi, a super midsize jet reaches Southeast Asia, and Europe calls for a long-range jet. The routing and any fuel stop on a long trip are confirmed with the operator before you book, and flights from the United States include a stop on the way.

Wedding parties and families flying home for Diwali often travel with a lot of luggage, so tell us the passenger count and the baggage at the start. Both decide the aircraft as much as the distance does.

The airport matters too. Most international private flights use Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International or Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International, and flights between two Indian cities are flown by Indian charter operators certified by the DGCA. Udaipur and Jodhpur are domestic airports, so international guests clear in at Delhi, Mumbai or Jaipur first. The runway an aircraft needs is calculated by the operator for that day’s conditions, and we confirm it with the operator for your trip.

How we choose an operator

Whichever category you end up in, the operator behind the aircraft goes through our internal due diligence before we present it. We confirm operator certification, review the operator’s safety and incident history, and confirm pilot experience and currency on the specific aircraft type. Where the operator takes part in a Wyvern or ARGUS program, we use those audits as well. Our safety page explains each step.
