India Private Jets arranges passenger charter to and from India in every size of aircraft, from a light jet for a short trip to the Gulf to a long range jet to Europe. The right category for your trip comes down to four things: how far you are going, how many people are traveling, how much baggage is coming, and which airport suits the trip at each end.
Aircraft Categories
- Helicopters, for short flights where the landing spots and conditions suit one
- Piston aircraft for short regional flights with one or two passengers
- Turboprops for short trips with a small group
- Very light jets for two or three people on a short business trip
- Light jets for trips across India and short flights to the Gulf from Mumbai
- Super light jets for the Gulf, Sri Lanka and the Maldives with more baggage
- Midsize jets for the Gulf from Delhi and as far as Bangkok
- Super midsize jets for Singapore and Hong Kong in one leg
- Heavy jets for larger groups on long flights
- Long range jets for Europe
- VIP airliners for wedding parties and groups that outgrow a heavy jet
Each category page lists the aircraft we arrange in it, with cabin, range and seating for each type.
Choosing a Category for Your Trip
Distance decides a lot on a trip to or from India. From Delhi it is about 1,180 nautical miles to Dubai, 1,590 to Bangkok, 2,240 to Singapore and 3,650 to London; from Mumbai, 895 to the Maldives and 1,040 to Dubai. A light jet covers the shorter trips to the Gulf from Mumbai, a midsize jet or larger suits the Gulf from Delhi, a super midsize jet reaches Singapore and Hong Kong, and Europe calls for a long range jet, with the routing and any fuel stop confirmed with the operator before you book. Wedding parties and families flying home for Diwali often bring a lot of luggage, so tell us the passenger count and the baggage at the start.
Part 135 is the FAA’s set of rules for on-demand, for-hire charter. When your total passenger count outgrows a heavy jet and the group consists of more than nineteen passengers, the aircraft required would fall into regional airliner, or airliner-size. These trips would no longer fall under the FAR Part 135 standards but possibly operate under FAR Part 121 or foreign equivalent standards. Part 121 and equivalent generally carry stricter crew and operating requirements than FAR Part 91 and FAR Part 135.
Most international private flights use Delhi or Mumbai, flights between two Indian cities are flown by Indian charter operators certified by the DGCA, and Udaipur and Jodhpur are domestic airports, so international guests clear in at Delhi, Mumbai or Jaipur first. The runway a particular aircraft needs is calculated by the operator for that day’s conditions, and your advisor confirms it with the operator before anything is booked.
Vetting Behind Every Trip
Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:
- FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
- Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates.
- Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
- Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.
